16 tournaments are in the books in the 2023 World Padel Tour season, the biggest and most international year in the competition's history.
New stars have been born, new finalists have been hailed and new champions have been crowned, and with the month-long summer break upon us, now is as good a time as ever to analyse the rankings.
With some places making up as many as over 70 places already while others have suffered injuries, the deck has been substantially reshuffled.
Below, we break down the biggest gainers in the World Padel Tour rankings so far in 2023!
Biggest gainers in the Top 10
A prominent figure in the latter stages of tournaments is Momo Gonzalez, who has gained the most places inside of the men's top ten. The Malaga-born player has gone up five places this season and sits in ninth, having made two finals in Marbella and Denmark while winning the Reus Open 500.
Both Martin Di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk have made up four places, sitting in third and fifth respectively after their stunning start to the campaign, lifting four titles from eight finals.
Arturo Coello started 2023 in fourth and is now in first place, gaining three places, while his team-mate Agustin Tapia has improved from third to second.
The two stand-out gainers in the women's rankings are Delfi Brea and Tamara Icardo.
Due to their injury-ridden start to 2022 together and their fantastic results in 2023 individually, both players have made significant gains: Brea has moved up ten spots to eighth, Icardo has gained eight places to ninth.
With few movements inside of the top seven, the only other gainer in the top ten is Aranza Osoro, who started 2023 in 14th and is now tenth.
Top 50: Libaak and Augsburger have arrived
After their head-turning Wild Card display in Buenos Aires last season, Valentino Libaak and Leandro Augsburger started playing World Padel Tour full-time in 2023.
It yielded quick results, stunningly reaching the final of the La Rioja Open and becoming the youngest two players in WPT history to get to a final. Chiefly because of this, Libaak and Augsburger have gained 72 and 83 places respectively, placing them both inside the top 50.
Alicante Open 500 winners Edu Alonso and Juanlu Esbri have both gained ten slots to put them joint-29th, while Pablo Cardona's break-out season has seen him move up 19 spots into 44th.
The stand-out name in the women's bracket inside of the top 50 is Alejandra Alonso, the 17th-year-old reaching her first-ever quarter-final in Valladolid and gaining 25 places halfway through the season.
Carolina Orsi became the first-ever Italian to make a quarter-final in World Padel Tour in Denmark, and her year has so far resulted in her moving up 13 places, while Marina Guinart has gone up 14 to move into 28th.
Top 100: Youngsters rising to prominence
As is natural, there are several big swings in the lower half of the top 100 players.
Guillermo Collado and Francisco Jurado are by far the biggest gainers in the men's bracket, rising by over 50 places each to get just inside of the top 100.
Higher up, Fran Guerrero and Arnau Ayats have established themselves as main draw players, and this reflects in the rankings as the young Spaniards have moved up 23 and 19 places respectively.
Jairo Bautista, Enrique Goenaga, David Gala and Dani Santigosa are other stand-out gainers, each moving up over 15 places with successful 2023 seasons.
Andrea Ustero became the youngest-ever quarter-finalist in World Padel Tour history in Valladolid at 16 years and one month old, and the teenager is unsurprisingly the biggest gainer in the women's top 100.
She has rocketed up a whopping 70 places to 65th, gaining more than double the places of any other top 100 player.
Another 16-year-old, Agueda Perez, is 30 places better off as she is now embedded into the main draw in 53rd.
