It was a true underdog story, the one of Martin Di Nenno and Fede Chingotto.
Their respective partners at the time Coki Nieto and Javi Garrido both did not have enough points to compete at the Master Final, meaning the two right-sided players had to take on the tournament together.
Chingotto and Di Nenno are both very much cut from the same cloth, excelling when defending from the back but without having a potent smash to match up with other couples. Still, the Argentinians made it all the way into the final, where they met three-time number ones Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron.
