The Barcelo Valladolid Master's round of 32 is up and running at the iconic Plaza Major, with some of the city's finest players stepping onto the court.
While Carnicero won, it was not meant to be for another Valladolid-born player in Marina Guinart, who lost against five-seed Aranza Osoro and Lucia Sainz.

Castello and Araujo taste victory
Away from centre court, Jessica Castello and Sofia Araujo won their first match together since forming as a couple as they took out qualifiers Marina Pinacho and Manuela Schuck.
Castello and Araujo suffered a surprising loss in the Human French Padel Open round of 32, but started winning in Valladolid as they go through to the round of 16.
Local player Carmen Castillon also emerged victorious, herself and Nuria Vivancos defeating Ana Fernandez and Laia Rodriguez.
