One of the greatest players to ever pick up a racket, Lima announced at the start of 2023 that it would be his last season as a professional.

The three-time number one of the world has 50 World Padel Tour to his name - one of only three players to reach half a century along with Fernando Belasteguin (65) and Alejandra Salazar (52).

However, Lima's career has been plagued chiefly by knee injuries, which he explained was one of the key reasons for his retirement.

The SIXT Comunidad de Madrid Master 2023 will be the final tournament in Pablo Lima's stellar career. He will end it alongside another South American legend in Agustin Silingo, taking on three-time number ones Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan in the round of 32.

Lima has reached two quarter-finals in the 2023 season in Abu Dhabi and Brussels with Coki Nieto, but has not been able to reach the same heights as he did in previous seasons, his last title being the 2022 French Padel Open.

The 36-year-old Lima will be honoured at centre court of the 'Caja Magica' in Madrid, getting the send-off he deserves before leaving the stage for a final time.
