Josemaria and Sanchez number ones again in women's rankings

The Spaniards have retaken the crown after their Modon Abu Dhabi Padel Master 2023 victory.

The Abu Dhabi Padel Master gave players more points than any World Padel Tour event before, with winners Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez taking home two thousand points each.

This sees the Spaniards once again leap-frogging Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay, as they did in the second half of last season before dramatically losing it again at the Master Final.

However, they will not actually be the one-seed until the Paraguay Padel Open at the end of March, as registration for La Rioja and Chile closed before Abu Dhabi was played.

Within the top ten, both Lucia Sainz and Victoria Iglesias move up one spot to become ninth and tenth respectively in the women's rankings.

Looking down, Veronica Virseda and Bárbara Las Heras have edged closer to the top ten, moving up two places into joint-11th. After her first-ever semi-final in a Master, 17-year-old Claudia Jensen moved up from 21st to 19th.

Looking down at the top 50, the biggest gainer was young Sara Ruiz, who surged ten places to become the new number 43 of the world.

15-year-old Agueda Perez reached the round of 16, and logically shot up the rankings from 96th to 83rd. Former tournament-winning tennis player Lara Arruabarrena has now cracked the top 100 in World Padel Tour, becoming 99th after moving up 24 places.
